I was born and raised in Manchester, UK, and moved to Shropshire with my husband, Ian, and daughter, Rose, in 2001 – she’s now married and lives close by. I also have four stepchildren and nine grandchildren.
My favourite way to spend my time is being with people I care about. However, I also have lots of hobbies, including painting in a variety of mediums (I’ve exhibited and sold my work in numerous exhibitions in Shropshire, Cheshire and Wales), cake decorating, sewing and making flowers out of cold porcelain, so I have plenty to keep me busy.
Having suffered from a few health challenges, keeping fit is an important part of my life and I exercise most days, even though I have never been sporty. I also love the outdoors and spend many hours rambling the beautiful countryside surrounding our home with our dogs and any family members or friends I can entice to walk with me.
My first novel, Lie a Little of the Faredene Saga (published in 2020), was a collaboration with my editor and friend, Claire Dean of The Editing House. Claire knew I’d always wanted to write a novel and suggested the first Covid lockdown was the perfect time to do so. It was a great idea, because writing has become my passion. I now freely admit to being obsessed with my characters and their lives. Plotting where life will take them is such fun! Plus, I get to behave mischievously through my characters.
